Asparagus and strawberries in all their glory

What a busy and beautiful April 2025, it was!
April is usually loaded with beautiful flowers blossoming, and the sight of asparagus popping out of the ground. This year it took the asparagus a little time to get popping, with warm days and cool nights. By the end of April, the asparagus was popping up like mad! It’s been “fun” trying to keep up with it!
The new strawberry field went in last September. Todd tilled the land, made hills and then laid plastic to help suppress weeds. With the help of our AMAZING granddaughter Danica, we were able to transplant 5,000 strawberry plants into the plastic right before Fall Festival started. What a big job!
All winter long and every day this spring has been like watching over a toddler with those strawberries.
They truly are a beautiful labor of love.
Asparagus is available in the farm store until blueberry picking begins, right around the end of May.
We are hoping the strawberries will be available through mid June.
All crops are weather dependent.
